My name is Will McCambley, and I am an Account Manager with CodeHS living in Vancouver, Washington. I’ve been with CodeHS for over 3 years and have spent that time working closely with teacher and classrooms to learn as much as I can about how to achieve the best student outcomes with CodeHS. I’ve already worked closely with several names I see in this thread, and I hope to one day work with the rest of you as well!
In addition to being a CodeHS employee, I am also a CodeHS success story. When I started here I had looked at some Python tutorials online. By the end of my second year, I was starting to create websites for fun (www.squidmaps.com), and by the end of year 3 I was picking up freelance programming jobs to work on fun projects outside of work.
My hobbies include playing instruments and making music (with and without a computer), exploring the beautiful parks and forests of the Pacific Northwest, and trying to figure out what the heck is going on underneath the hood of my car.
My Pro Tip for new CodeHS teachers is to get familiar with Grade Mode to do your code review, and learn to use your keyboard shortcuts (Shift + P for ‘Pass’, Shift + N for ‘Needs Work’. This will save you hours and hours.
Looking forwards to a great school year!
